RubyConf 07: Conference Wrapup

Rconf-11
Ok, I got blogged out and didn't blog about the last day of sessions, but I saw a number of good ones. Matz's keynote was great, he covered alot of the success of Ruby and where it was going with 1.9. The next day Dr Nic did a good talk on RubiGen which is basically Rails generators extracted out into a separate gem. The next talk was on BDD/TDD and covered RSpec and some of where it was going. Then there was a talk about Adhearsion which is a friendly Ruby way of using Asterick which looked very cool.

The last talk I saw was Justin Getland talking about using open ID, and how simple and easy it is using the acts_as_authenticated gem. Justin did a great quick demo of how easy it is to get setup and running. Justin then went on to cover setting up the RubyCAS server and client which was also well done.

Overall the conference was just awesome. It definitely got me excited about doing more Ruby development and I even picked up a couple of techniques and tools that can apply to .NET as well.

Thanks for your posts throughout RubyConf. I couldn't make it in person, but I didn't feel totally left out thanks to your blog and others.
